Last time on Dragons of Despair: The heroes hear something racing down the hallway and nearly run into a half-ogre monk , running from three massive ogres! They square up and work together to defeat them and discover this monk named ‘A’ was captured in the Eastwall mountains by a band of dragonmen and was taken as a prisoner with two Que-Shu tribesmen. He was able to escape with one, but they were split up near a waterfall when the ogres began pursuit. They decided to return with ‘A’ to find the other prisoner and came across Sunstar hiding in rubble. Upon learning they were going to liberate her mate, she joined them. When they passed the East Falls into the Great Plaza they saw the Black Dragon ordering a Dragon man and some Aghar dwarves to search for the prisoners. When the Aghar began to approach the heroes, they all moved back to the falls and dropped caltrops. The Aghar were fascinated with the shiny objects and decided to pick them up. The heroes made a deal with them to lead them to the Aghar Highbulp for a better route to the dragon…
About DL1 Dragons of Despair
You stand on the road east of Solace, tired from five years of adventuring, from a fruitless search for lost clerical magic. You know the old proverb that claims “You must return to find what you left to seek,” but the saying never really made sense. Soon, however, it will.
For the world of Krynn is not the same: refugees stream out of the northernmost human lands, telling horrible tales. An invading army has burned their villages and put their families and friends to the sword. Among these stories you hear even darker rumors-that older evils, the dragons themselves, have returned to the world, for new and more terrible purposes.
“Dragon of Despair” is the first in TSR’s series of Dragonlance adventures for use with the AD&D game system. Your players will adventure in the world of Krynn, visit strange places such as Haven or ruined Xak Tsaroth, and encounter the bizarre draconians and spectral minions. They can play the modules as a set of separate adventures or as a great quest that spans the entire Dragonlance story.
An adventure for characters Level 4-6.
Written by Tracy Hickman.
