Game Setup
Last time on Tyranny of Dragons: The heroes are questioned by Rezmir, the Black dragonspawn Wyrmspeaker. The heroes immediately revealed their plan with Talis the White while Lucan and Jamna disappeared into the morning mists. Rezmir let them come aboard, to prove her suspicion. As the heroes used the wrong password to enter the citadel, the stone golem protectors came to life and began pummeling the already exhausted heroes. Rezmir was now certain that Talis sent the heroes to die here, rather than deal with them herself. Rezmir demanded their surrender and the heroes chose life. They were taken to the barracks where there was an Abyssal Tiefling named Vaelith imprisoned. The guards were told to keep the prisoners awake, and Rezmir left promising their execution in the morning. Without weapons the heroes did their best to rest and met Vaelith. Blagothkus, the cloud giant who owns this citadel that was used in the Blue Lady’s War, entered and demanded to know what was going on. He told the heroes that there would be no executions on his citadel, and to remain where they were. This cemented the fact that the Cult and Blagothkus were not on the same page. When Talis arrived on wyvern back two days later, she expected to find dead heroes. Instead, she discovered Rezmir furious for her foisting them on her. Talis has to save face and confront them, and even without weapons, they eventually overcame Talis, leaving her dead. This however infuriated Blagothkus. He demanded the end to fighting on his citadel and let Vaelith out as a sign of good faith. He asked them to meet him in his tower. When they did he revealed that he is in opposition, even building an army to stand against the dragons, but he’s not sure he can trust the heroes. So he offers them a night to eliminate the cultists and in return he will drop them off at Shallows. The heroes move to finally get revenge on Rezmir for starting this whole mess, and that is where we pick up with our adventurers today…
