Game Setup
Last time on Shadow of the Dragon Queen: The heroes were sent to explore a farmstead eighteen miles east of Kalaman. There was supposed to be a report received from the residents. After days have gone by with no word, Marshal Vendri sent the heroes. Upon arriving at the farmstead the heroes were set upon by a Dragonarmy soldier and five hobgoblins. After defeating all but two of the hobgoblins, they surrendered. The heroes learned that Bandits and mercenaries have been coming to the region to join the Dragon Army. It’s said the Dragon Army pays well. And that Dragon Army troops wear black armor with red flourishes and the symbol of Takhisis the Dragon Queen. They received word from Darret Highwater through the Fargab that he needed them back as soon as possible. Upon returning to Kalaman, they were briefed by Marshal Vendri about their need to recover a spy from the Vogler invasion force. The Kalaman military engaged the Dragon Army in order to distract them while the heroes entered and rescued the spy. With the debriefing from the spy ongoing, the heroes are offered some much needed rest. Pane Woover of the Fisher’s Guild entered the following morning asking for assistance with the water mammals in Kalaman Bay, and Ulrich and Galabrand agreed to go assist him. This leaves the three heroes we have today in their lodgings on the fourth floor of Castle Kalaman in an unused ballroom.
