Game Setup
Last time on Shadow of the Dragon Queen: The heroes were called to the gates after running some errands to discover a Captain Oklid Narnhelm unwilling to let any more refugees into Kalaman city. With a growing population, surrounded by the Red Dragonarmy, and no resources being imported, the city leadership is forced to make some difficult decisions. Fortunately the heroes convinced the Captain to reopen the gates and provided possible solutions to Kalaman’s troubles. They noticed a Dragonnel carrying two riders to the top of Castle Kalaman. The heroes intercepted it only to discover it was Clystran from the Northern Wastes and Darret Highwater! They explained that Lord Soth’s Flying Citadel does in fact have tunnels running throughout the base, and they believe they can collect enough Dragonnel’s to take the heroes into the citadel when it attacks Kalaman, which is imminent. Where the day of dread ended in hope, the night of terror instilled fear. City guards turned against their captain, who turned out to be Sivak Draconians! Now no one can be trusted to be who they claim. This coupled with Lord Bakaris trying to defect to the Red Dragonarmy as his thought dead son was in fact embedded in the Dragonarmy this whole time. Now the leadership is also up for review as fear spreads throughout the city. A Death Dragon crashes into the city with a note to the heroes pinned to its body. It turns out the Dark Queen is aware and ready to deal with the heroes. Now in their darkest hour, Darret asks the heroes to reach out to the five neighboring kingdoms for aid against the Dragonarmy. Only time will tell if they can defeat this seemingly insurmountable force.
