About Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight
After 300 hundred years of peace, the world of Krynn has descended into darkness as the evil goddess Takhisis and her army of dragons threaten to dominate the lands. Can a small band of heroes, including the wizard Raistlin (Kiefer Sutherland), the priestess Goldmoon (Lucy Lawless), and the half-elven warrior Tanis (Michael Rosenbaum), save the world before all is lost? Based on the New York Times best-selling novel, Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight is an epic tale of might, magic, and monsters!

Notes:
- Tracy Hickman himself was adamantly opposed to trying to fit the entire novel into one movie, saying that “the film should portray essentially the first half of the book and finish with ‘Solace is burning'”.
- Co-author Tracy Hickman {says} “the animation itself is less than I would have hoped it to be” and that “including the entire first book in the movie was a mistake”. However, his overall reaction is positive, and he describes it as “the opening of a door and the beginning of a journey”
- The soundtrack, by Karl Preusser, was nominated for a Grammy.
- Kiefer Sutherland actually looked into the whole background of his character, Raistlin, before showing up on the set to do the recording. He was continuously worried about the pronunciation of the magic spells, so they had to record multiple takes around his spell casting.
- In the mid-1990s, the Jim Henson Company was in talks with TSR, which was the owner of Dungeons and Dragons and also Dragonlance, to produce some type of Dragonlance project. However when TSR was bought out by Wizards of the Coast, the project was dropped.
- Goofs:
- Throughout the scenes in Pax Tharkas (when they’re rescuing the prisoners) Laurana changes repeatedly from being in her elven clothing, to elven armor and back again
- In the credits, Michael Rosenbaum’s name is misspelled as “Michael Rosenbaun.”
- At the scene where Verminaard is about to kill Tanis (min: 81), he is wielding his weapon through his body.
- Various animated errors appear all over this movie. At one point a character seems to have three legs, another a character’s hair is white instead of brown. Some chairs have no color to them and seem invisible.
