Game Setup

Last time on Tyranny of Dragons: The heroes worked together to transfer all of the civilians out of the Temple of Shinare, and into the Keep. Once inside, a small strike team broke into the courtyard through the Sally Port, and the heroes immediately reacted by defeating them and capturing a Cult Priest. After resealing the Sally Port, they interrogated the priest to discover they are members of the Cult of the Dragon and that they are collecting loot “for the great hoard that will usher in the reign of the Queen of Dragons.” But with Takhisis, the Queen of Darkness having been killed over 20 years before, it doesn’t make much sense. Just then, a Blue Dragonspawn commander named Langdedrosa Cyanwrath offered a challenge to the heroes. Face him in one-on-one combat and he will release the four prisoners he has captured. Gunnar Thorvald the human barbarian from Nordmaar stepped up knowing that his chance of surviving the battle was slim to none. The battle was epic but in the end Gunnar fell, and the Dragonspawn stayed to his word. He released the prisoners and left Firstward with his forces. As the heroes tended to Gunners wounds they finally got some much needed rest. In the middle of the day they saw a young monk named Nesim Waladra lookin for aid in retrieving his master, a monk of Chislev named Leosin Erlanthar from Grymace. He was studying the Cult of the Dragon in Palanthas at the great library and on his way back he was captured. Governor Tarbaw Nighthill offered 250 steel to each of the heroes to investigate the trail of the militia and find where they camped. He wants to know where the camp is sited, how many raiders are there, who their leaders are, what’s motivating these attacks, and where they plan to strike next. If characters recover valuables that were stolen from the town, he would like them returned. As the heroes set out, they found a camp of cultists arguing with themselves, and that is where we pick up today’s game…
