Game Setup
Last time on Tyranny of Dragons: As Gunnar faced off against the local leader of the cult of the dragon, Frulam Mondath and her cultists and guard alone, the rest of the heroes cautiously followed his battle sounds deeper into the cavern. They discovered that Frulam is a powerful leader rather quickly as she dominated the team as they entered her lair, nearly wiping the entire party out. As all of the visible heroes were down, Frulam retreated to report what happened to the blue dragonspawn Langdedrosa Cyanwrath. The heroes came back and finished off the guards and retreated to regroup, but as they were gathering information about black dragon eggs in the cavern and persuaded a dragonclaw to rethink his life and loyalties, Winged Kobolds were using guard drakes to hunt the heroes down. They discovered Boros peeking out of the cavern and the fight was on! As two winged kobolds left to report the heroes’ whereabouts to Langdedrosa, the heroes mopped up the enemies. Langdedrosa exited the cavern with two berserkers and saw Gunnar alive. Thrilled that there was another chance to destroy this opponent for good, his companions held off their attack out of respect. But as soon as the heroes engaged the dragon spawn, they all entered the battle. While it was certainly not a one sided fight, it marked the true trajectory of these heroes from nearly being wiped out as they acted individually, to working together and overcoming a seemingly insurmountable force. Now they have to decide if they want to re enter the dragon hatchery to destroy the black dragon eggs or retreat back to Firstward or Solanthus.
